I’m sure the market is less interested in that number in isolation, and how that number compares to growth in other cloud platforms like Azure and AWS during the AI times

The AI demand is a lucky external event, but you only get exposed to these if you stick around. Lesson for Google not to kill products so quickly, maybe?

Seems like it's Cloud that's earning money for them; not 'products'.

I meant demand for running "external" AI workloads in their cloud.

their infra has been better than the rest, their ai products are utter trash, but I have definitely seen (1) pricing changes that exploit customers like Artifact Registry (2) significant defects over the last year in the platform I attribute to sloppy engineering

The only company that actually profits from the AI craze.

NVidia is doing great too: they're selling the picks and shovels in this AI gold rush.

mmm, some of what they're accepting is the future potential gold that might exist if the system doesn't crash.
You should look into the circular financing.

I know, but NVidia is at least profitable.
Should the whole AI thing be a bubble that'd crash and burn, I don't expect NVidia to disappear from the surface of the earth. Companies at the other side of this circular financing: I'm not so sure they'd survive.

I understand, it has a real product it can fall back on. But it's also bloated from all the debt it's taking on and if the market does tank, it's questionable how it functions. Its like someone taking steroids: sure, they got all those muscles now, but emotional disregulation is a bigger problem.
